ANOKA, Minnesota - August 26, 2021 - Following years of training and sacrifice, they went to Tokyo with dreams of standing on the podium, representing the United States following a medal performance in shooting. For the guests on this episode of the “It’s Federal Season” podcast, those Olympic dreams became a reality. Gold medalist in Women’s Skeet Amber English, silver medalist in Women’s Trap Kayle Browning, and bronze medalist in Mixed Team Trap Brian Burrows join the podcast to talk about their competitions in Tokyo, their impressions of the games and what’s next for each member of USA Shooting.

“This is a series of super exciting interviews with these Olympic medalists,” stated Jason Vanderbrink, President of Federal Ammunition. “Each shooter recounts their competition, talks about the games overall, each explains what they are doing with their medals, and they tell us what’s next for them in their shooting careers. This is a must listen to as the amazing shooters have such pride and enthusiasm when telling us their Olympic experiences,” stated Vanderbrink.

Kayle Browning, first time Olympian, captured the silver medal in Women’s Trap. Browning shot her way into the finals in the sixth position and then climbed into the final pairing with some clutch shooting. The Arkansas native and Federal-sponsored athlete missed extending the match by one target but realized her Olympic dream by winning silver for the United States of America.

In its Olympic debut, Federal-sponsored athlete Brian Burrows and his teammate claimed the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Burrows’ team qualified for the bronze match by posting a 146/150 in the qualifications. In their bronze medal match, they faced the mixed team from Slovakia which included the women’s individual gold medalist in trap. The U.S. team won in a dramatic shoot-off to finish third and represent the USA on the podium.

Amber English won the gold for the United States in Women’s Skeet. 1st Lt. English is a U.S. Army Reserve Soldier, assigned to the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program and attached to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit for training. English made the finals in the third position hitting 121/125 targets in qualifications. English won gold by defeating the world record holder from China and a strong Italian competitor in the final pairing.
